Stewart Island has a variety of accommodation as noted below. During peak periods (Christmas & New Year to March and Easter), many of the popular places tend to be booked out. We therefore, recommend advance bookings.

The majority of accommodation is in Oban Township in Halfmoon Bay and within easy access of all the facilities (shops, restaurants, cafes, post office, flight & ferry arrivals/departures). Accommodation is also available away from the main township, including Golden Bay and upto Horseshoe Bay. Facilities vary depending on choice of accommodation. Please note, the Hotel/Motel category has some cooking facilites in each room, allowing you to self-cater if you wish.
