Options & Prices - Guided Nature Walks/Hikes, Kiwi Spotting, Bird Watching

When reading the table, please note:

1. Please note: We are now offering two options to Ulva Island subject to numbers and demand, please let us know which you prefer when making a booking:
Ulva Island - Birds & Forest (for birding, flora, natural history and conservation) 4.5 hour or 8.5 hour option.
Ulva Island - Botanical (for flora and natural history) 4.5 hour option only.
Ulva Island - Birding (for birding only and not for flora and natural history) 4 hour option only.
2. Trips marked kiwi include kiwi spotting as part of the activity, other birdlife is also viewed on these trips.
3. Min-Max Persons indicate the number of people that make the trip feasible.
If you are only one or two persons, please note that other clients/agents are also booking our trips and it is likely that minimum numbers will be achieved for the trip. You can also check with us at the time of booking.
4. Private trips and other options are available subject to staff availability and client numbers.
5. Larger Group bookings are accepted as private trips for some of the options.

Private Trips, Tailored Trips, Group Tours

If you would like a private tour or a tailored option, please contact us to discuss.

We are can operate tours for groups larger than the maximum noted in the table above. Group Tours can be personalised, please contact us to discuss.

What Prices Include

Our prices include the following:

• GST (Goods and Services Tax)
• Administration Fee
• Guiding Fees
• Department of Conservation Fees (per person and per time guided)
• Water transport costs
• Refreshments on Full Day Trips
• On overnight trips - hut/camp fees, meals, drinks, snacks, use of tents (as required), mats and cups/plates/utensils/cooker.
• Guided sea kayaking trips also include hire of kayak and associated gear.

On Half Day trips, time permitting and subject to client preference, we may serve complimentary hot drinks.

SURCHARGES:
We do not guarantee that trips will run below minimum numbers, however, if we confirm a booking for 2 - 3 persons, we will operate the trip and require a surcharge to be payable on the day the trip operates. Surcharges are noted in the tables above. A surcharge will not apply if the minimum numbers are achieved for the trip.

CONSERVATION PROJECT:
We donate some of our revenue into our own conservation fund to assist with conservation and research. You will be helping by coming on one of our guided trips. See: Conservation for more details:

For all HALF DAY and FULL DAY trips we will donate the following:
- $ 1.00 per adult or child on guided walk, hike or sea kayaking trip

Forl OVERNIGHT trips we will donate the following:
- $1.00 per adult or child on guided walk, hike or sea kayaking trip of one to two nights
- $5.00 per adult or child on guided hike or sea kayaking trip of three or more nights

Children

Please note some of our trips are not suitable for young children, however, we may be able to offer families with young children alternative options. Please contact us directly to discuss. On sea kayaking trips, children will travel at the discretion of management, depending on amongst other things, ability and weather conditions.

Shuttle Pick-Up & Drop-Off

We operate a fully licensed passenger shuttle. If you require a pick-up/drop-off from/to your accommodation, flight or ferry terminal or the township for your guided activity, there is an additional charge of $5.00 p.p. each way or $10.00 p.p. for a return trip. Courtesy shuttles are provided if required for overnight trips of 3 days duration.
