Glory Cove Cruise & Ocean Beach Guided Walk

The Bravo Islands and Little Glory Cove are on the southeastern side of Paterson Inlet.  A walking track loops from Little Glory Cove to Ocean Beach through windswept coastal forest. We travel towards the Bravo Group of Islands to enjoy the scenery and any wildlife in the area. At Little Glory Cove disembark for a reasonably leisurely walk, passing small beaches and scenic viewpoints. Visit Ocean Beach, where kiwi are known to feed on sand hoppers at night, overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

BIRDS SEEN

Some commonly seen birds include:

Land birds: Bellbird, tui, wood pigeon, grey warbler, fantail, South Island tomtit.

Sea birds: Little blue penguin, white-capped mollymawk, Buller's mollymawk

Shore birds: White-fronted tern, variable oystercatchers, Stewart Island shag, spotted shag, pied shag, little black shag.

Note: on some of our trips we have also seen yellow-eyed penguin.

WILDLIFE SEEN

Bottle-nosed dolphins and fur seals are seen occasionally.
